| Navigate and select items
Use iPod's wheel, Select button (also called
the Center button — it's in the center of
the wheel), and Menu button to go back and forth
through iPod's menus and to select menu items.
To select an item, use the wheel to scroll to
the item, then press the Center button. If the
item has a right arrow (>) next to it, selecting
it leads to another list of choices. Press the
Menu button to go back to the previous menu.
Change volume
You can adjust the volume when you see the Now
Playing screen by turning iPod's wheel. Turn it
to the right to turn up the sound. Turn it left
to turn down the volume.
Move through a song
Press the Select button when you see the Now
Playing screen to see where you are in a song.
A diamond symbol indicates the point in the song
that is selected. Scroll to any point in the song.
The diamond symbol moves as you scroll, and the
elapsed time and time remaining indicators change.
The song continues playing from the point where
you stopped scrolling.
Show and change a song's rating
With iPod 2.0 software or later, pressing the
Select button twice when you see the Now Playing
screen shows the song's rating. Turn the wheel
to set or change the rating.
Next/Fast-forward
In the Now Playing screen, pressing the Next/Fast-forward
button skips to the next song in the list. Holding
the Next/Fast-forward button forwards through
the current song.

In the Now Playing screen, pressing the Previous/Rewind
button skips to the previous song in the list.
Holding the Previous/Rewind button rewinds through
the current song.
